Our own staffmember Jan Robbe (Erratic/UndaCova) decided to release his albumlength of sonic adventures in space on Entity. His casual interest in the fields of astronomy and consciousness have driven him to the production of "Activation Fields". Expect a varied succession of short electronic experiments that will have you floating in between swirling abstract shapes and erratically changing landscapes.
21 tracks, which includes 4 original retakes by Affective Disorder, m__, Plagasul and Tirriddiliu.
Original artwork was made by Renascent for the track "Fe Advection" (www.audikt.com), and got photoshoptennissed by Erratic for the complete album.

A fine piece of ambient soundscapes with a unique natural and industrial collage. This is one of the albums I point newcomers to the genre to in order to get a feel for abstract electronica. I have written about the entire Netlabel community at http://www.andrewstuckey.com where I talk about this album further. Good stuff, and long enough to satisify most everybody!

jan robbe--one of the masterminds behind the fantastic duncan avoid--takes the abstract soundscaping up a notch with activation fields, under the erratic moniker. flowing as a timeless sequence of interlocking fields, the album merges with the subconscious with a diverse coterie of sounds, seeming both natural and synthetic, waveform and particulate. oft times there are ghosts of melodies or rhythms flitting wraithlike in the backdrop, teasing, the very taxonomies of the vignettes influencing the experience, or they coalesce organically into some alien and mesmerizing ambient montage, dissociative trances. the overall sense i have from listening is of a quixotic psychological terrain recalling the unknown epochal urges of the multiverse primeval.
