"Music For Infants" was created by mystified ( www. mystifiedmusic.com ). Filled with quiet bell-like and percussive variations, the piece was written with small children in mind-- but is not exclusive to kids and can be enjoyed by adults, as well.
Quiet morphing phrases twinkle like the stars of the sky, affording the brain with music both comforting and challenging. Listeners will be inclined to let their minds wander, staying alert yet creative, visualizing what nice things occur to them.
Purists and mathematicians might be interested in the process used to create this piece-- essentially, ten related but varying pieces were created using quasi-fractal means ( thanks to software designer Paul Whalley ). The pieces were then sequenced in time and slightly effected. Hence, much like fractals themselves, there are seed elements and recursive elements in this piece.

gentle and soothing. at first I thought it would be a reiteration of raymond scott's work with infants in mind, but no, this is not as frenetic.
this piece is serene and relaxing- the low tones really do it. despite the above review, the composition seems very deliberately thought-out to me. doesn't seem random. loving it.

I like a lot of Mystified's work, but this one seems to be nothing at all. A few sounds, very simple structures, repeated over and over. It might be just the ticket for a lot of people but did not work at all for me.

Treetrunk records is off to a great start with this deceptively simple album, based on fractal complexities. Generative music needn't be cold and sterile, and it is one of the evident goals of this new netlabel to prove that there is warmth and pleasure possible in sounds triggered by algorithms and similar formulae.
