Notes
Keith - electric guitar, fretless electric bass, mandola, mandolin, piano Henry - percussion John - mandolin, acoustic guitar, bouzouki, tablas, low whistle, voice James T - piano, poetry, percussion Rupert - percussion Matthew W - saz, balalaika, percussion Vaughan - acoustic guitar, mandolin, voice plus Jo, Andi - voices Jonathan - percussion A curious feature of the north wall of St. Stephens church. The first part of the last track involves James reading "Something Good", a poem he was commissioned to write in celebration of Exeter Central Library's 40th birthday (complete text here). The City Council's ever-busy works vehicles provided some interesting droning noises at the end of the first piece. Jonathan mainly came along to take some photos, but ended up playing some percussion, including Henry's kit on the last piece. Jo and Andi are from Vaughan's Crediton-based improvised singing group. All our tracks get uploaded with the default title "untitled" since, as a collective, we have no straightforward way of deciding on anything! We are inviting listeners to suggest more interesting titles for our pieces. If any occur to you, please leave a little review (it's easy - see the link below) in which you suggest them. You can tell us what you think of our music at the same time. Any suggested titles we like may end up getting adopted. File names encode recording information, as follows: "010605-d2t1x2-2130to2412.mp3" would be excerpt 2 from track 1 of minidisc 2 (running from 21:30 to 24:12 of that track) recorded during the session on 1st June 2005. Sessions are usually in two parts - we fill one disc, stop for tea, and then fill another disc. |
