This film is a strange one, worse than a poor third season episode of Star Trek, with a strange mix of Space 1999 costumes and special effects far inferior to the Flash Gordon movies of the 1930s. It is American science fiction run through a weird and incoherent European prism. For some reason I had to watch it through to the end.

This movie, unlike the last several Star Wars films, is actually interesting, entertaining, and cost a lot less to make. If you prefer watching Jar Jar and other video game graphics pretending to be special photographic effects, then put on a plastic smile, snag a happy meal, and go buy some action figures. George Lucas (and his wallet) will love you for it.

Interesting movie... but why do all the minorities need to die at the end. The Black guy, the Asian girl and the alien are the only characters that perish is the last ten minutes.

Obviously some people do not need cheesy stock footage for creating their own weird videos. I on the other hand do, and I thank the uploader. If you are on here looking for real movies, try cable or netflix.

Saying you hope someone chokes on something is incredibly mean! Shame on you!
The person who uploaded this did so knowing that SOME people would enjoy it while others won't. You can't please everyone, but what you don't find entertaining someone else does, so think about that for a while. If you have a brain big enough to allow you to think.
PEOPLE CAN WRITE THEIR REVIEWS WITHOUT BEING MEAN ABOUT IT.

First off, Sandra shouldn't get on Willy Wolf's back for quoting Pearl's description of "Track of the Moon Beast" for an episode of MST3K. Instead, Sandra should watch that show more. How Joel, Mike and the 'bots missed trashing this gem is a mystery only equaled by the fact that the entire production crew went back to work making SEQUELS to this dreck!
Gotta give it an extra star for the outrageous costumes. If the Italians would have just stuck to fashion and fast cars, they could have re-established the Roman Empire by now.

While you're watching this movie, repeat the following line to yourself:
"This movie came out the same year as Star Wars."
"This movie came out the same year as Star Wars."
"This movie came out the same year as Star Wars."
Low budget is no justification for making a bad movie. There are plenty of low-budget gems available for viewing on the Internet Archive. This isn't one of them.
There are also plenty of "bad" movies that are highly entertaining. This isn't one of them.
As Albert Schlef wrote in his review below, there is no excuse for this film.

I have just watched this movie and i do not know if anyone noticed but the movie sound track at the start was also used by the UK Kids TV program the TOMORROW PEOPLE (mid late 1970'S) when the teleporting kids had to put the world to sleep in the episode called the Blue and the Green and the thing this tells me is that i must get out more.
The film by the way is a seminal piece of SFI trash in the best tradition and i love it but the tells me something else but that's another story.

Subject: Well,
Subject: Well,
I downloaded this movie after seeing the awful reviews, believing there's beauty in utter garbage.
There's only one thing preventing me from giving this movie five stars: it was produced in 1977, when there was no excuse for producing such movies.

even though the other review here said it was awefull, i downloaded it thinking i might be able to get some good bits to use for VJing.
But i was wrong, it is a really bad mess of a film that had no real useable scenes in it.

Right from the top, let me say that the best thing about this movie is the soundtrack. It sounds like the person that put it together was listening to far much Switched On Bach at the time. The analog Moog sound was probably horribly dated even in 1977, but it's still kinda neat sounding.
Other than that, this is the perfect movie for an upcoming "The Film Crew" DVD. The plot is a complete incomprehensible mess, the acting is overdone, the dialog is filled with non-sequiturs, and the sets and effects are laughably cheap. The look of the costumes is straight out of a 1950s sci-fi flick. It makes "Space Mutiny" look almost competent in comparison.
The movie opens with an odd bit about a star exploding, but not really exploding which makes little sense. Things don't improve from there. We then cut to the dark room filled with buttons and a man comes up to randomly punch a man. From that point, the best I can figure is Capt. Jack Armstrong is a man bucking the system; in this case, the order and control of computers (The main computer is named WIZ... wait, what?) Armstrong is sent out on a mission, and on the way back some ships attack. Armstrong is forced to investigate and crashes on a moon, where he finds a long group of people and a really bad cross between HAL and a Dalek running an dead city.
It's hard to figure out who all these people are, since they are just appear on the screen, and there are these odd scenes that make no sense stuck in at seeming random. It seems that the film makers wanted to make a film about how humans are superior to machines, and shouldn't surrender themselves to them, but I'm not sure how the French jokes, press conferences, and a vampire fit into the whole thing.
If you need a film to riff on, trot this train wreck out. Otherwise, don't bother.
