Palestine CenterAssisting Palestinian Development: Current Challenges by Larry Garber (2001)

Larry Garber, mission director for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) program for the Palestinians, told a February 15 Center audience that the Palestinian economy has been “devastated” since the intifada began. Their economy has lost over $1 billion since September 29, or 25 percent of the total Gross Domestic Product for 2000. Garber’s presentation focused on the work of USAID both before and after the intifada.
