Orchard Music claims they own this (they don't)
I used a short excerpt of this clip in an educational commentary video (clearly falls under fair use) that I uploaded to YouTube. Seconds after I finished uploading my video, Orchard Music claimed that they owned the copyright to the clip, and they also claimed the clip I used was from a completely different track (that they may really own...but it's not the same music).
I disputed Orchard Music's claim through YouTube's dispute system, but Orchard instantly confirmed that they were sure they own this material. This happened within a few milliseconds of submitting my dispute.
This immediately forced anyone who will ever watch my video to miss the first twelve minutes or so of the footage, because that was where the short clip fell.
I immediately wrote Orchard Music an email informing them that this is not their music, and that they do not own the copyright on it. I gave them a 24 hour time limit to stop claiming ownership of this track, which they clearly do not own, before I reported them to the Crown Prosecution Service for committing criminal fraud by misrepresentation. (In this country that offence is punishable by a minimum of one year in prison.)
Anyway I want to let everyone know that Orchard Music is going around saying that they own this track when they clearly do not, and threatening innocent people. They are doing this to insert their ads for a different album in newly posted YouTube videos, hoping to use this track to earn money for themselves. They gave up in the end against me, but I'm sure they're doing it to others.
