Subject: The Valley of Ashes
F. Scott Fitzgerald referred to Flushing Meadow Park as The Valley of Ashes in The Great Gatsby.

Subject: Interesting, if somewhat dry
An overview to transform Flushing Meadow into the World's Fair of 1965 is showcased here. Quite interesting background information on how much time is needed to put one of these babys on. Also of fascination, this being 1961, is how many people show up for a bridge opening.
Shows progress of construction on and planning for the 1964-65 New York World's Fair. With Robert Moses and many others.
