Paranomia - Le requiem pour les refrigerateures solitaires (20k102) 2004 (September 1, 2004)

the release title (in english 'requiem for lonely refrigerators') says it already. technoid ambient-industrial-noise that is colder than the arctic. Paramomia, (a sideproject by estonian producer talvel) is a word taken from a game called oddworld. it's a vanishing wilderness, plenty of trees, shrubs and dirt walkways are the norm there. don't miss this release.

Subject: Original and hypnotizing
Dark and cold tracks, yet very immersing with a haunting ambiance emanating from the continuum of the album.

On a low level the synthesis is interesting and complex, sometimes unidentifiable, often distorted and brutalized repeated samples backed up by some bassish drone.
The mixing is very original and rough, I don't think it is careless, but some tracks obviously wonn't work on most speakers. i guess headphones are recommended.

It has no reason of hurting your speakers anymore than a square wave if you use your volume knob.

Still, use headphones !!

Subject: If you value your speakers...
...don't play this. All other critical concerns aside, the whole mess is recorded either near or over the db limit and clips terribly. Awful. I wonder if this was intentional on the artist's part? If so, this just isn't even going to begin to be satisfying.
