Basead on a classical test case for the Euler Equations in fluid dynamics, documents the evolution of a 2D explosion inside a square domain. The test case is referred by Toro (Riemann Solvers and Numerical Methods for Fluid Dynamics, Springer Verlag 1999) and consists of a unit square with two areas: A circular, interior one, with high density and 0.4 radius (rho=1.0, u=v=0.0, p = 1.0). The outside has low density (rho=0.125, u=v=0.0, p=0.1). This will originate a complex wave pattern where a shock wave is formed and runs towards the outside and an expansion fan goes towards the center. When reaching the walls the shock wave is reflected and so on... In the plot, the x coordinate is U, y = V and z = Pressure. The colors are provided by the mach number.
The initial circular appearance is due to the axisimmetric nature of the flow but when the shock wave reaches the square walls, the flow must conform with the new geometry, and the pattern becomes more complex.
