Subject: The tapers
We (Roland DeWitt and Will Hennegan) taped this show using 2 Minidisc recorders and about 5 minidiscs. I flew down to NOLA from Auburn, AL to see this show when I was only 16 years old. It was one of the most amazing shows I have ever seen, being that it is the only 311 DAY show I have attended as of yet.
I have to give Will Hennegan most of the credit for this show. We both wore mics and had a bass filter on us, but we collaborated on the recording so that there is less loss in quality and also to avoid any skipping of any part(s) of songs. Will did all the transferring to CD. He is a master of mastering..yes. Word up to Will if he is reading this. I had a great time.

Subject: Lineage
There were three recordings of this show from what I remember. I have one, i think Roland DeWitt taped it on Minidisc..not sure of mics. Also, Brian Anderson taped it on DAT. I never got a copy of his tape...Not sure who the last taper was.

Subject: pretty good
this is a real good recording, there is a bit of audience noise, but almost no hise, so i give it 4

Subject: The story behind this rip
I got this show from the taper, and sadly, against his wishes, I released it. At the time I was involved in "mp3 groups" and it would guarantee membership into one I wanted to get into. However, I've lost his contact info since.

There is a lossless source, but good luck finding it. :/

Notes

_______
- Extended drum solo featuring the whole band
*- with bubbles
**- these are songs that haven't been played in a LOOOONG time (may have been the first time for Dancehall)
***- Dedicated to Keith Adams
****- Stage Dive from Nick
other tidbits:
- a trapeze artist, fire eaters, giant cartoon characters, confetti + balloons
- Pnut did a crazy dive into the crowd and didnt really get caught
- a big tony danza head was on the stage
- the band only took one 5 minute break - the show lasted nearly 4 hours, topping the 2000 3-11 day celebration for the longest 311 set to date!

***************DO NOT MP3 ENCODE THIS SHOW!!!***************

IT WAS SOURCED FROM AN MP3 AT 192kpbs AND IT WILL SOUND LIKE SHIT IF YOU RESAMPLE IT. IF YOU MUST RESAMPLE IT (for your personal/ipod use only) THEN DO NOT RE-DISTRIBUTE IT IN MP3 FORM!

***************DO NOT MP3 ENCODE THIS SHOW!!!***************

P.S. Im working on getting a lossless version of 311 Day 2002 and when I do I'll replace this show with it and provide mp3's, so sit tight.
