Nastassja Noell9/20/2009 Documentation of chemical products on natural gas drilling pad in Dimock, Pennsylvania, USA; 12-12:30pm (2009)

Would you like to try our new video/audio player ? (beta!)

Uncut videofootage taken on Saturday, September 20, 2009, time was approximately 12-12:30pm.
The location is just south of Dimock Township, Pennsylvania, USA; southeast of the intersection of Troy Rd and Rt. 29.

This excerpt shows the chemical products found along Cabot Oil and Gas' Cranberry Pipeline and the Grimsley Well Pad #1. This segment of the pipeline runs east from Cabot's Grimsley Well Pad #1, down a hill, underneath a wetland (this section under construction during the filming), and to a well site where 8,500 gallons of toxic natural gas drilling chemicals had been spilled into a creek during the previous week.

Chemical Products include: Sodium Hydroxide; Desco - Regular DR-[unreadable]; PolyBead Fine; Solvay Chemicals - Flourides; Integrity - BioCide; PolyPlus; Lignite; Drill Pac High Viscosity; Soltex - Water Soluble Hole and Mud Conditioner; Excaliber - EXBAR; Mega-Defoamer; Aqua-Clear - AirFoam HD.

It is undetermined whether these chemical products are for drilling into the Marcellus Shale, or for hydraulic fracturing -- hydrofracking -- the natural gas out of the Marcellus Shale.

*** WARNING: BE CAUTIOUS WHEN DOCUMENTING DRILLING SITES YOURSELF: DRILLING SITES ARE COVERED IN HAZARDOUS RADIOACTIVE DUST AND CHEMICALS ***
