Subject: A great resource for teaching VJing

I remember when we were starting out, being able to concentrate on using the tools was the most important thing - and having pre-made clips that looked good and worked well would have been great, instead of wasting so many hours trying to work out how to make correctly formatted content. Now we're teaching VJing to others, having a free resource like this that our newbs can play with is REALLY helpful. Instant results, so they can pay attention to how the software works. Sure, VJs usually end up wanting to use all their own clips, but being able to quick-start by using premade content like this is much more exciting. Well never before have I seen such a release of a huge collection of visuals .

These have proven to be good quality loops.

The robot loops are wicked with great contrast and the radial blur robot is ace.

All in all well worth the band width to download.........even if youre on dial up.

First of all: WOW!
I think it's amazing that you guys have shared such a wonderful and hi-quality piece of work with the global community. Whereas usually one pays big bucks to attain similar footage, its a real show of character that you guys have made all of this available for free, and to me it portrays your awareness.
As for the material itself, I have been inspired by the composition, colors and dynamics of quite some clips. I especially like the CHINA and FX COOL series, and the INCONTROL clip is excellent work. I quickly visited your website, and I saw that you explain the basics of fx creation a bit on your site, so I'll keep checkin in regularly to keep up-to-date on new posts. With a little bit of help, I might even become a vj myself this way :)

you guys are cool. i like it. i am so into some of these clips, and i think it
is fabulous where
you are going (and where you have arrived)- stylish graffik style mixing with vj
vibe
trippiness and filmic footage, presented in a professional and skilled way.

what really got me was the robot in both styles - actual toy footage, and then
this
absolutely amazingly cool robot that you seem to have made in flash (? after
effects with
nested compositions?). really nice style going there.

haha, the actual toy robot has this sort of robot expression as if he saying
'heyyyy ahm
cool, havin' a good time, yeaaah, get on' ... although that is the beauty of
toys, as they
allow humans to project their own ideas onto them i guess.

and the equipment fetish thing is cool too - the AR_GRAFX_PURPLE_1.mov with the
edirol
V4 mixer. always a good thing to display, a video mixer, i like that.

clips like AR_GRAFX_GLO4 and 7 remind me slightly of Hidden Partition. if you
havent seen
this dvd yet i would say go grab it at microcinema .com because they have done
some
great things with this animated graphix approach. your grafix anims are cool
too, just
thought i would mention.

GRUNGE_REDDANCE is a good one, very interesting how you incorporate the faces.

and of course the GRUNGE_TV is just so good. i guess it is a classic, the
close-up yum
texture of tv screens. but you have done it so well. another classic 'look' you
have done
really well is the Now Zip Through The Lit-Up City vibe. great filmic treatment
that you did
to the footage ... and it is so much a part of city life, and yet i still go
ho-hum to the fast
street vibe.

GRAFX_TUN_2 is very very nice modernist loop.

i found the in-control monoControl clip a fascinating and well done piece. i
started
wondering what sort of psychological benefit it could potentially convey, but
decided not
to think about it, even though it was an interesting topic. it just looks cool.
great use of
large text in background!

and the FXCOOL series really has just such a delightful tone and texture/detail
interplay.
hmmmm, i am starting to sound like David and Margaret from the SBS Movie Show.
