I saw this once before, but it was so bad I tried to forget it. Unfortunately I succeeded. I will remember it this time.
The end was good though. It ended, and that was good.

Silly plot, uninspired direction, actors going through the motions, or worse, overacting. These are just a few of the faults this movie has. The main character is just ridiculous. He manages to give both reporters and Americans a bad name. The girl playing Nancy looks and acts like she would rather be having a root canal than appearing in this movie. Actually I don't blame her. The plot? Uh, something about an uprising and Mauser rifles. Also lots of dark, dimly lit scenes with this or that going on. Hard to follow dialogue. Bad photography. At least the guy impersonating an Arab on the streets trying to sell razor blades was somewhat personable. A really good example of a bad B movie. I didn't give it the lowest rating because there are actually even worse B movies in the Archives.

Parkyakarkus was funny on the radio with his crazy jibber-jabber and is the main reason I watched this. This is well-worth the watching. It's a classic 'B' movie, meant to fill out a double-bill.

The plot line is trite, though it could have been interesting if the rest of the movie was well done. As it is, many details are unbelievable or unacceptable. The American "protagonist" is a rude jerk with whom one cannot sympathize. Then, we have an Arab Sheik who is beardless (a beard is was symbol of manhood to an Arab especially in those times) and who is willing to compromise his faith to marry a British girl. Not that there is anything wrong with a cross-cultural match, but under the circumstances it's hard to believe. Then, the girl ends up "ends up" with the American at the end with absolutely no precedent. I don't see this comment as a "spoiler" because it has no relationship at all to anything in the supposed plot of the story. The only good quality of the film is the Brooklyn "Arab", a humorous and resourceful character who would have been a nice complement to a better movie.

The lead characters chuckle at their wittiness too often. Completely unimpressive performances. But it's probably a good example of a real "B" movie from the time. Something non-challenging to fill out a theater program.

Sure it's slow moving and boring, but it's also poorly acted on a bad sound stage.
"Razor blades" fills up a lot of the dialogue.
See if you can count how many times it's repeated.
