Dense, energetic, complex, and you can dance to it. I like where they take this genre. Also check out Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes, who are also from New Orleans and aren't afraid to rock.

A friend copied this for me, and my copy has 9 cuts. Anybody else have extra tracks? Not sure what the extra 2 songs are, but track 6 is Frankenstein, so I am sure it's the same show.

This is the funk I've been looking for. Great groove. Leveling on the recording is just about right, crisp sound too. Now I just want more Afroskull. I'll be watching out for these guys.

These guys are new to me, but I'll be looking for them now. Sounds like they'd be great fun live. Nice recording that's definitely worth the dl. Funky horns and a funky groove. Add well recorded to the mix and you've got 5 stars! Thanks archive!

where did these guys come from?? this show is so smokin!! a must have for anyone who likes parliament/funkadelic/zappa/meters/galactic/etc....
the cover of Frankenstein is unbelievable... and the tune "spyplane" has some of the best horn lines I've ever heard. I really really like these guys!

I've heard of these guys but never heard them. Until now. Damn, these guys are funky/rockin/solid/fun as hell! Amazing horn arrangements, great funky jams, sick percussion (check out the end of "frankenstein"), and just plain overall quality musicianship. I read a review somewhere that if James Bond listened to funk, it would be Afroskull. After hearing this, I must concur. 5 funky-ass stars!

Afroskull embodies what music should be. Today, when monotonous pop music is all that streams through our radios, this funky, energentic band reminds us all what great music is. The original, funky instrumentals combined with a live horn section create a unique, attention-grabbing sound. Seeing this band live is a truely amazing experience.

5 stars!

Subject: A Helluva Party
A high-octane set by a really tight power rock/jazz/funk group, complete with a horn section and intricate percussion. A great party set, but more variety in tempo would be welcome for just straight listening. Still worth five stars.
