Arthur Godfrey Time
This is actually parts of two different episodes, interesting that the audience seems to be taken with Godfreys folksy ways, but i tend to agree with other reviewers, the show seems boring for the most part, I'll give it 3 stars for its historical content.
Interesting note about Godfreys announcer, Tony Marvin, if you recognize that deep voice, its because he was the original voice of Tony the Tiger!

You morons
Having worked for Arthur Godfrey for 11 years I must tell you he was one of the most formidable, astonishing performers of all time. He was the most popular man in the United States - more popular than Dwight Eisenhower, who was a friend of his. You idiots watching with your parents were probably much more entranced with The Mickey Mouse Club and lesser ilk. There was so much to know - first integrated singing group on television among other monumental contributions.

What was the attraction??????
How on earth did this BORING human being become so popular with the American public that he was on several times a day for YEARS??????
I was a little kid when his show was on live and it made me cringe it was so dull then... it has not improved with age. About 2 or 3 minutes of this "sleeping pill of a man" is all I can stand.
