Die Bitch Die AgainDie Bitch Die Again - Wuts Yer Pee Story [bbr001] ()

Shit-fi PSR improvisations recorded to a four track. Highlights: Track 3 features davros-style vocals, large woofy washings, and the memorable harshness of running a psr keyboard through a distortion pedal. Track 6 is another definitive one with sloppy power-electronics and boomy vocals.

Notes

Hi this is jordan, founder of broke bunnie recordings (BBR).

History: In 1998 I had been making music for a year or two with my friends in a suburb of minneapolis. The whole thing started when a co-worker at an ISP heard me listening to dance industrial and techno ... then showed me the playerpro tracker for mac. I went home and made my first tape (a locked beat layered with my amiga saying something funny). I had no musical knowledge, and it was a long while before I even figured out that beats could be put on a grid. When I wasn't making fucky off-beat tracker mistakes, I was doing vocals for a toy/trash/grind band whose performances were limited to brief episodes of terror around our school and mall. It was called "Die Bitch, Die!" ... a name I wasn't sick of after we disbanded.

So, a few months later when a friend of mine lent me his new four track for a week or two, I pounded out a half hours worth of my visions. Harsh sounds, humanized electronics struggling to keep up with each other, and my signature, haiku vocals.

Originally, I burned off around thirty copies of this onto CDR that I traded away in the mail and gave to friends. I also gave mp3s to all my online friends, mostly people in ripping groups. However, it was a pretty elite crowed of music lovers and I thought there could be people out there outside of my friends who would appreciate what I was doing (heh, yeah, i was a clueless youth ;).

I thought about putting the files on mp3.com but hated the limitations on file size/quality, advertisements, etc. I didn't know of any net labels at the time, but it seemed like a really good idea to me. So, with my ISP hook ups, I decided to start my own and put this album up as the first release.

If you are concerned about the possibility of sexism being advocated by the wholeness of this release, fear not. We dislike everyone equally. This album is dedicated to you. Lyrics:

Hour 1:
waiting laying safe
the buzzing has died away
white flakes will soon reign

Hour 2:
looking appealing
the path of least resistance
leads to discomfort

Hour 3:
comfort in coldness
weary of a warm embrace
of your paradigm

Hour 4:
even with logic
following the expected
what is the limit
