"Baby Snooks," first portrayed by Fanny Brice during her 1912 vaudeville act, was Fanny's version of the then-time actress, Baby Peggy. Brice later admitted that even though Baby Snooks was a version of herself as a child, Baby Snooks was a caricature of Baby Peggy.
In 1934, Fanny wore the Baby Snooks costume (of long, curly, bleach blond hair held together with a large pink ribbon, baggy dress, Buster Brown-like shoes w ankle socks and a big pink all-day sucker) during her time in the Follies on Broadway. February 29 1936, Fanny & Baby Snooks premiered in the CBS radio program, The Ziegfeld Follies of the Air. In December 1937, she moved from CBS to NBC "Good News," returning to CBS in September 1940 to star in "Maxwell House Coffee Time."
In 1944, Fanny Brice & Baby Snooks starred in their own radio show, Post Toasties Time. It was very shortly thereafter renamed The Baby Snooks Show, but was also referred to as Baby Snooks & Daddy; it became a favoured American radio sitcom. November 09, 1949 Fanny once again moved her program to NBC, where she starred until her final broadcast May 22, 1951; 2 days later, she fell victim of a cerebral haemorrhage, dying at the age of 59.
NOTE FROM EDITOR:
I discovered many errors in "Baby Snooks 18 Eps" but too late to make changes in the file. "Baby Snooks 93 Eps" and one labeled "Baby Snooks 80 Eps" are replacement files for "Baby Snooks 18 Eps." Thank you.

Subject: Not to be missed: Wizard of Oz gem to be found here
# 22 is an hour-long special program pre-empting Baby Snooks to promote The Wizard of Oz at theaters. With Jack Haley away, Judy Garland, Ray Bolger and Burt Lahr and others perform.
It is stunning on many levels.
