Subject: Pretty Standard Commercial
Nothing Remarkable, But it does sell the product well, So I give it 4/5. BTW, Has anyone else noticed that Baby Food commercials tend to be the least historically interesting?

This was an effective commercial for its day.

Subject: Warm Feelings, Canned Food
An obsequious male announcer works to convince young mothers that itÂs OK to give their toddlers canned baby food instead of making it themselves. We see very little of the motherÂthe ad is mostly close-ups of the baby. If we were to see too much of the mom, we would start wondering about her and why sheÂs not making the food herself. Instead we see her face on the side of the screen kissing the baby again and againÂthe message is that just because she feeds the baby canned food, it doesnÂt mean sheÂs a not a loving mom. In fact, sheÂs a better mother because she uses Beech-Nut baby foods. Why? Because of the Âthe good warm feelings that come with happier mealtimes. The Beech-Nut feeling! The announcer acts as the motherÂs ingratiating co-conspirator as she feeds her baby canned orange juice; Âthe babyÂs healthier, youÂre happier. ThatÂs the Beech-Nut feeling! Baby food in the early 60Âs (when this ad appears to have been made) was filled with additives, especially MSG and sugarÂand in one case, a brand of apple juice for babies was nothing but flavored sugar water. This ad is depressingly crass.

Subject: BABY EAT NOW!
Geez maw, let the kid eat. Baby gets kissed a lot during this commercial. She's OBVIOUSLY hungry, so let her eat that Beech-Nut purée! Disturbing shot at the end of a disembodied baby fist grabbing the strained meat.

Subject: Ever have Beech-Nut feelings?
This interesting commercial features the love that a mother has to her child, and that, of course, ties into the topic of baby food. While we hear a baby sucking away at some strained orange juice (ugh) we learn that Beech-Nut made strained beef at one point. Wow. At the end, the baby reaches for it rather then the orange can! Another blow to Vegetarians! Highly reccomended!

Subject: Beech-Nut Baby Food
Standard-issue baby food commercial from the early 60s. The claim that the food "caters to your baby's tastes" might seem a little farfetched, but this is pretty standard for the most part.
