Entertainers Duke Mitchell and Sammy Petrillo parachute into the jungles of the Pacific island of Cola-Cola, where they meet primitive tribesmen, the chief's sarong-clad daughter Nona, and mad scientist Dr. Zabor (Bela Lugosi) conducting experiments in evolution.
Jealous of Mitchell's relations with Nona, Zabor has just the thing to make a monkey of him...

Subject: Lugosi and Lewis
I watched this movie because i wanted to see Bela Lugosi's part. Boy, Lewis looks very young here. I thought Bela did his role well, and he seems as natural in comedies as in dramas/horror.
This was a cute movie if somewhat silly. *Best part for me was Lugosi.

This is a bad attempt to piggyback on the success of The Martin and Lewis road movies.

Subject: Worth seeing for Lugosi -- and the surprise ending
If anything, this is another testament to Lugosi's professionalism. No matter how lousy the film, he always gave a good performance.

Mitchell & Petrillo were a poor man's Martin & Lewis. (Very poor.) Lewis was grating enough, but Petrillo is unbearable. And Mitchell is no Dean Martin (he sounds like Tony Curtis). Huntz Hall visited Lugosi on the set and asked what he thought of Mitchell & Petrillo. Lugosi answered: "They're scum".

I watched this all the way through only because I like Bela Lugosi. The "comic" character Sammy was not funny. He was annoying and irritating. Any actual funny scenes were sparse. I have a sense of humor and I laughed only twice. If you want to see two real comics, a jungle princess and a gorilla, 'The Road To Bali' is a heck of a lot better.
