Bent Corners Of Taped Rugs
by Taped Rugs Productions
The ten videos presented here were produced by Taped Rugs between 2006 and 2008. They were compiled together as "Bent Corners Of Taped Rugs" for release on DVDR at the end of 2008.
Some Specifics:
1) Psycho Pop Sick Elle
France Gall sings Baby Pop to the psychedelic visualizations manipulated by the dada cells of the Goff III cerebralochis. It's short and thick and Kevin B. is the truly responsible perp of this incident.
2) Abstract
Something to kick start 2008: Kick Kickin Kick with pure animated animations lubed with Hello Kitty Stratocaster loop luber duplicator and Zizzle Zoundz chess match check mate for a date.
3) House Hunting
The in depth psyche response to abode searching in the surreal estate environment. Starring The Hand with a special appearance by Karen G. Shot April 19th, 2008. Sounds and production by Charles Rice Goff III.
4) A Most Difficult Approach
Sue Reed. From "Whose Hat Covers That Sundial". Music produced by Jasun Martz/Under The Asphalt. Video produced by Charles Rice Goff III/Taped Rugs Productions.

5) Nuxie Tuxedo Eater
Bill Gates squats at the starting line, the search is on, the grand flower of digital pollen fires its charge into the dough, the sewing machine kneads it into the escort, Plato lightly strums his ovation.
6) Saddles Without Reins
A merry-go-round carousel spin through collage space and sounds. Video from the Parker Carousel Museum, Leavenworth, Kansas. Shot and edited by Charles Rice Goff III.
7) Evolution Is Bunk
The official truth according to some very important people who used to control a large portion of what has been referred to as the civilized world.
8) East Kansas Lightning
Charles Goff III filmed and edited this bit of midwestern visual flux, then cooked up the soundtrack, mixed it all together and posted it for the world to experience -- the entire start to finish process of production flashed through a mere two weeks during February, 2007. To add a special pampas flavor to this roll down the road, the soundtrack features guitar samples from Argentinian Federico Barabino. Strap on your safety belts for a ride down Highway 10 that will leave you with a severe case of highway hypnosis.

9) Sukkeret Og Pepper
Norwegian Dadaist Joek Friis's 1927 classic is here again at last, brought back to life for the general public courtesy of Taped Rugs Productions. Similar in style to the Dadaist/Surrealist films of Hans Richter and Viking Eggeling, Sukkeret Og Pepper (Sugar And Pepper) overlays seemingly disjointed vignettes, smudges, and situations, repeating themes and discarding logic in a bewildering cavalcade of imagery.
Avant Garde recording artist Charles Goff III lends a modern interpretation to Friis's original score, incorporating a wide variety of sounds as well as several Scandinavian voices into the mix.
10) The Importance Of Noticing
Here is a Joek Friis work from the late 1950's which incorporates his Anti-Dada Dadaist philosophies. Like Duchamp, Friis did not join the Dada movement per se, but rather, interpreted Dadaist ideas and developed his own Dadaist style. In "The Importance Of Noticing", Friis cuts up a recorded Duchamp monolog and intersperses it with verbiage spoken by janitors whom he interviewed personally. The stock footage of restrooms being cleaned hails back to the "Fountain", put on exhibit by Duchamp's alter ego, Richard Mutt, in 1917. Friis' film not only recalls the Dadaist past, but also foreshadows the Pop Art movement of the 1960's with its bright colors and high contrasts.
