Subject: Alright remember what we said...
If Chick wants to be like one of us, alright. If not, we'll kick his ass!

A film about how to handle a bully. The class committee chairman, Fred wants to handle Chick the bully's plans to destroy the class picnic. His suggestion is to do the politically correct and responsible thing. Makes sense. But can that really work with a bully who is clearly intent of not behaving socially responsible?

It's worth a try as this film suggests. But perhaps the film has another unspoken message. There are more of the class than Chick and his pee-wee crew. If diplomacy fails...we all know what comes next.

Subject: "He's sure got me buffaloed!"
That Chick. He's no good. Seems he's been bullying the local youngsters, and making them to do his dirty bidding. With the exception of the kid who plays Skipper, the acting in this movie is Awful with a capital A. Thus, this film has more than a few laughworthy moments.

Case in point:
After hearing that Chick is up to no good, one classmate nearly starts a riot (twice!) by saying in the dullest monotone imaginable: "Wait nothing. I'm going to go get him right now."

Also, try and count how many times a group of kids huddles around and says "Now listen. All we gotta do is..."

Props to the kid who played Skipper. He packed some serious drama into that meager script.

Subject: The Bully falls short
In reality, Chuck's behavior is criminal. Today, he would be in serious trouble. This 1952 script is over-simplified and unrealistic. Wasn't there any communication with adult figures? Why didn't Skippy's sister immediately help her brother when she found out how he was treated. I don't think his peers would have been so patient and understanding. He would have been beaten up when he tried to ruin their plans. Chuck needed professional help that the teens couldn't give him. Acting and direction was stilted, although I
thought the actors who did Skippy and Chuck were good.

Subject: What do YOU think?
That's the question that ends the film. I guess then a classroom discussion would take place. I vote we strip Chick, paint him blue, and make him run up and down Main Street shouting, "I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" But that's just me. Wasn't that one Kansas smalltown farmgirl near the end really hot? I think it's because farmgirls get to see all that animal action and it gives them a more earthy, natural outlook on life.

A mentally challenged young man uses physical force and underhanded tactics to attack and manipulate his environment, including extortion and terror to control others for his selfish personal gain. In other words, presidential material.

Subject: Boy, Chick, You Really Have a Problem!
Chick Allen, a high-school kid who spends his time bullying a bunch of grade school kids, makes big plans to bust up the class picnic, even though heÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂs invited too. He forces all his little victims to go along with his plans. Fortunately, one of them tells his older sister, who is on the picnic planning committee. She tells the rest of the kids in the class and they secretly change the location of the picnic, then stupidly send Chick a note after he and his victims show up at the original picnic site inviting him to come to the relocated picnic. When Chick and his victims show up, Centron asks us, ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂWhat do you think?ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ This is one of the most amateurish Centron productions IÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂve seen. The acting is universally horrible, with the actorsÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ charming Kansas twang not bailing them out this time. The plot is bizarre, with a setup that bears no resemblance to real bullying, except in the infliction of pain and fear in the victims. Still, this makes the movie quite campy and ripe for msting.

Subject: In Cold Mud
If you live in a town where the toughest gang around is composed of kids named Chick, Skipper and Raymond, well, congratulations, you are a resident of Squaresville.

Chick the Troglodyte terrorizes smaller kids to be in his gang, and then gets them to do the dirty work of spoiling others fun. Refreshingly, most of his own class want to beat the pulp out of him, but cooler heads prevail in an attempt to give Chick one more chance to belong.

I think the kid who played Raymond went on to form his own mafia family in the Cheating short, also by Centron.

Subject: Chick and his pals are a menace 2 society!
Chick, leader of a gang of uh, pre-pubescent children, (he looks to be 17, the kids, 10-11) threaten to spoil the plans of the other kids in his class's plans for a picnic. The group is stymied over what to do when they come up with an ingenious plan!
A VERY puzzling film which features almost grown up adults being threatened by wimpy looking 10-12 year olds who look so thin, one wonders how much damage they can do. The plans they come up with to disrupt the picnic (dumping mud on the table! Setting off firecrackers!) seem ludicrous but just the thought of this terrify the older folk. The acting in this also is BAD, like SERIOUSLY. Proceed at your own caution, highly reccomended!

Chick wants to mess up the class picnic, but his plans are thwarted by "Skipper," one of Chick's cronies, who has an asymmetrical head and big, floppy ears. Featuring a cast of especially bad teen actors with flat Kansas twangs; "Ginger" is particularly awful. The film ends without resolution.
