Subject: Business Applications
This was an interesting episode that covered some business application demonstrations as well as some discussion on the future of business applications. Some discussion included the difference between horizontal and vertical applications and the fear that the employees had of the new computers.
I found it interesting that Stewart Reges of Stanford mentioned he believed that in the future computers in the business would be as commonplace as phones. He was absolutely right!
I found the demonstration by Bill Blackmer of Levi Strauss particularly interesting. In it he demonstrates a piece of software written my IBM to set up a meeting with another employee.
