interior of St. Mary Arches, as it once was - image from www.wissensdrang.com/ All our tracks get uploaded with the default title "untitled" since, as a collective, we have no straightforward way of deciding on anything! We are inviting listeners to suggest more interesting titles for our pieces. If any occur to you, please leave a little review (it's easy - see the link below) in which you suggest them. You can tell us what you think of our music at the same time. Any suggested titles we like may end up getting adopted. File names encode recording information, as follows: "010605-d2t1x2-2130to2412.mp3" would be excerpt 2 from track 1 of minidisc 2 (running from 21:30 to 24:12 of that track) recorded during the session on 1st June 2005. Sessions are usually in two parts - we fill one disc, stop for tea, and then fill another disc. ![]() |

Subject: "it seemed an average Drone"
1. nice array of sounds, but all a bit incoherent - finding each other
2. still a bit muddled but this has a nice ebb, flow and swell to it, with Annie singing something about "waiting for the rain" most evocatively in midstream
3. more incoherence - struggling to converse here...it starts to get somewhere near the end, but a bit of an inconsequential fragment
4. I REALLY like the first few minutes of this, until the singing gets a bit too silly.
5. James T reads a poem beginning "It seemed an average day" - a bit hard to make out the wods, and the music's a bit shapeless
6. Starts off with potential - shuffly groove, plaintive sax, chant and clattery kitchen sounds - but too muddled... thins out by 5m and remians quite nice til end.
7. A refreshing dose of weirdness (who's making those sounds) - good up to about 5:15
8. inconsequential fragment featuring some dubious vocalising - shouldn't have made the edit
9. intriguing but marginal - works from 1:40 or so - nice semi-audible Annie voice with guitar noodling, jews harp, etc.
10. just sort of floats along to the end - nice, but slight.
An average Drone.
