SOURCE / LINEAGE
Stereo AUD master to Maxell METAL tape
Borrowed mics > Borrowed Sony WM-D6C > Master METAL tape > Computer WAV > Cool Edit Pro 2000 > TLH v2.4.1 > FLAC 8 > DIME > you
I don't have the specific model for the mic; thanks K! for borrowing me the gear.
This was an older combo mic, as thick as a cigarette pack & about as long but squared, with separate left / right channel sides within the enclosure.
The mic was either pinned over one shoulder pointing forward facing stage, or pinned under an open-holed baseball cap.
Care was taken to ensure the enclosure was situated to get a "left" and "right" image of the sound, not "up" and "down".
I originally mastered this 2009-06-17.
The only thing I did on the computer was place track marks before each piece, and a bit of editing (SEE NOTES).
This FLAC fileset comes from WAVs from this dub, which only needed SBE corrections in TLH; no CD-Rs or EACs.
NOTES
As this is an original master & isn't too bad to start with, please DON'T remaster and repost it.

This was an excellent schizo show; the band seemed in a good mood & very talkative.
There were lots of short blasts of covers from the get-go; most of these were short teasers / noodling between the real songs.
In a couple spots I actually broke out the noodling to a separate track.
All this in addition to the usual Sonic Youth and Pink Floyd covers, and the Theme From SWAT.
Plus with it being the time of their 2nd LP, there's a bunch of older songs not heard in sets in later years.
A fine example of earlier CVB, and the tape's pretty good too; check out the sample.

They note it's Victor's 21st birthday tonite. (BS or truth?)

I had this documented in my list for years, but noted I wouldn't trade it & never did.
I guess it's time to ket the kitty outta the bag; hopefully karma will deal me back something cool.
Crank it up and ENJOY! it as I have, and share it so others can hear it.

I am usually particular about "leaving everything in", but I got on a roll here - in for a penny, in for a pound.
The tape opens with The Cure's "Close To Me" on the house speakers, and CVB (out-of)tuning up along with it - DIME nono, gotta go-go.
And the end of the tape also had house music kick in - nono, cut cut; at that point the whole thing was just a bit over 80mins.
So I actually did some edits around the encore break - took out some clapping & tuning, but kept band talk around it.
Now it all fits on one disc (just!, by 10secs.) - if you can't do 80min discs, you could split it where my tape did & start Disc Two with Circles.
Even with these small cuts, there's tons of banter & other tuning between songs.
I fade-out after Border Ska to flip the tape.... but no, David starts another rant about LSD & I had a sliver of tape, so I faded it back in again.
Flipped the tape after the story (which DID just fit), but missed the start of Circles (d'oh!).
Beyond the edit mentioned & that cut song, the rest is intact; all that's missing is a minute of tuning & clapping.
(I usually put a disclaimer in here about me clapping, but I was strangely silent this night.)

Filenames have numbers on the end that are the TIMES (ex. - "...-359" is 3min59sec long).
One filename has "QM" in the name, as a question mark isn't allowed in names.
Filenames for guessed titles have "(QMEXQM)" in the name, as "?!?" isn't allowed in names.
I mark the start of tracks when the music or count-in begins, not the talking about it before it starts.
