Subject: San Fransisco, here I come!
GREAT overview of San Fransisco and the opening of the Golden Gate Bridge, with the festival and ultimately the exposition! After a hilarious intro about how SF was formed, We then get a whirlwind tour of SF, stopping on the tall streets, Chinatown and Fishermans Wharf, some really nice photography here, as we go into Chinatown.. They have a bank serviced only by women!! Using Abacuses! Is that still there? Fishermans wharf is nice too. But the main focus here is the opening of the Golden Gate Bridge! They have a 3 day festival, headed by the most amazing floats LOVED the statue of liberty one. This is all concluded by just a PEEK at the Golden Gate Exposition. Theres nobody there! It hasnt opened yet! Please come if you can!

Highly reccomended!

Subject: The Other 1939 World's Fair
This film starts out like a travelogue about San Francisco and goes on and on until you wonder if theyÂre going to say anything about the WorldÂs Fair. Finally, about halfway through, they get to the Golden Gate Bridge, and then to the fair, which was designed to celebrate the bridgeÂs opening. Lots of parade footage is shown, and then we get to see the models for the exhibition buildings for a bit before the film abruptly ends. I wouldnÂt say this was the best vehicle to promote a WorldÂs Fair. Maybe that explains why it was eclipsed by the one in New York.
