This study was realized by the authors on the fauna and the ecology of the Geometridae of Sirvan by day and by night between April 2008 and April 2011. Totally 67 species, belonging to 41 genera of 5 subfamilies were recorded in the studying area. For this purpose, authors studied 9 different types of habitats between 640-1800m above sea level, and in different seasons. Results were evaluated in the report from the faunistical and ecological standpoints. Faunistically, Drepanopterula limaria (Ennominae) is new to the fauna of Turkey. The rest of the recorded species are new to Sirvan district and Siirt province. Ecological results are based upon the regional plant cover, topographical features, and the climatic conditions. Rare and little known geometrid species appear mainly in early spring. This group of species is represented by 47% of the whole geometrid species of the region. Investigations revealed that the species diversity is represented at highest value between the altitudes 800-1000m. Separately, total 139 plant species of 132 genera in 53 families were mentioned in this report as new to Sirvan district.
