Tribal Voice
PowWow allows users to create their own Internet community. One can either use PowWow's existing communities to hang out in for free or create and host your own community for a fee. Perhaps the biggest advance with PowWow is that one can (with a microphone) chat live with your voice online.

Extempo Systems
These days, if you fancy a chat you don't need to find a human being to do it with. The Web is increasingly being populated by intelligent agents('bots') or 'chat bots' - bots that will have a conversation with you.

TV Guide/TV Gen
We're past the days when a famous person taking questions and chatting on the Web with the general public makes news. But celebrity chats are still a big draw, with major chat and entertainment sites trying to out do each other with the celebrity chats they offer.

WebChat Broadcasting System
Last April, Infoseek bought up one of the longest established and most popular chat sites on the Web - the WebChat Broadcasting System (WBS). With over 3 million members WBS on average gains more than 4,000 new members every day.

Talk City
Game playing is a huge draw for people on-line. And so is chat. TalkCity has combined the two in an extensive array at its Games Galore area.
