Priceless
Patti Page sings a song near the start....she was around when TV was still a novelty many thought was just a fad, and lived into the era of YouTube. She probably saw a lot of changes over the years.
Presenting the advertising is Martin Block, who is best remembered today for appearing in some MGM shorts ("Martin Block's Musical Merry-Go-Round") that were released on DVD-R by Warner Bros.
...and remember, the best christmas gift is lung-cancer.
It's strange that "The School House" was criticised for using a single static camera shot during performances, considering this show, which had a much larger budget, does the same thing. In general, the production values of this episode are very bare-bones, but that doesn't matter.
This is mild, relaxing, cooler television that is oddly charming.
