I wrote this song in (of all times) the late spring of 2002, and this demo dates from around May that year. It was recorded at home on my digital 8-track and MIDI sequencer, just after I got married - my wife plays piano and the synth bells near the end, and I played guitars, bass and MIDI guitar "pad", as well as programming the drums (sampled from a Yamaha DD10 drumbox). I entered this song in the 2002 UK Songwriting Contest, where it was a runner-up in the Folk category. My finest hour to date.
