Subject: American Civil War Overview
This film gives a very good overview of the main events of the American Civil War. It would make a great reference of about the proper length for a high school paper on the subject. I enjoyed it very much. It also provides a view of some of the battlefields from a time, the 1950's, when the land was much less built up than it is now.

Subject: not for the
They expect to click and after a few minutes get instant entertainment and rate a film accordingly . The Civil War is a vast subject and there is always scope for new learning. I recommend this film to anyone , who is leaving aside school day memories, and starting a new study of the Civil War. They will not find this 15 minutes of viewing to be dry but should realise that they have a long way to go before they have a basic knowledge of the subject. Back to reading books and stoically enduring many dry patches.

Subject: Personally, I've Never Known Any War to Be Civil
Straightforward, rather dry film on the Civil War made by Encyclopedia Britannica. Actually, this is a little bit better than you might expect given the low budget IÃÂÃÂm sure they had to work with. Some attempt is made to get an emotional feel for the material. Mostly, though, this is the typical Civil War stuff you learned in school.

Subject: Oh No! The Civil War!
OK, class, education time, as the good folks of Encyclopedia Britannica gives us a priver on the Civil War. Using sound clips, drawings and renactments (with what looks like 5 people) the EB people do a pretty good job, and maintains interest.

Shotlist

Pictures important military events of the war, stressing social, economic and geographical factors. Animated drawings and color photography used.
