In this later film, Rudolph Valentino plays a poor Italian noble man. He takes a job in New York and falls in love.

Rudy the coiled Cobra!
Rudolph Vaselino slips and sides through another silent sleeper. How this clown ever snookered the studio stiffs and how he took advantage of the extreme “stupor” of the movie goers in the “Roaring 20’s” was only halted by the Harrison Narcotic Act. A cure for syphilis and gonnorhea was another twenty years away. Tisk, tisk!

highly enjoyable
Silent films were an art form in itself. One has to allow oneself to submerge into the stylize stories they tell. This was a wonderful melodrama perfectly acted out by Rudolph Valentino and the remaining cast. He was better in this then in Camille with Nazimova. It would be great for there to be a restored version available. The Conquering Power was great too much more of a dark story to it. If you love silent films this must see.

I adore this movie. Nita Naldi and Rudolph Valentino positively sizzle in this movie! They ave such amazing on-screen chemistry. I recommend this one as a secret guilty pleasure, bring tea and chocolate. :)

Anything Valentino Is Good Valentino!
No one has or will ever match Rudy - not by a long shot. He is so fascinating...mystifying and absolutely smoldering. Valentino was all magic and I hope the day never comes when his legacy is forgotten. In the pathetic time we are living in, my joy and fulfillment comes from these greats - these glorious films and figures that couldn't perish with time if you tore and burned them.
