Mirando a traves de la ventana is an audio performance created usiey hugor bng a technique coined "FROTAGE" by Moratilla, which is a variation on an approach adopted by surrealist artists. While these artists used charcoal and paper to create forms on different surfaces, the Spanish artist has exploited the potential of a laptop with incorporated microphone. Sounds and noises are recorded then processed on the hard disk, using a number of technical processes in sound apps... to create original sounds. The composition was created in real-time and incorporates sounds produced by acoustic sources such as the piano and guitar... Each performance is unique, as it is unpredictable because of the precarious nature of the software used and will be more or less intense depending on the context. The work was inspired by events in the world and how the media in the States, Spain and GB for example portray reality. The artist wishes to dedicate this concert to all those who are suffering from the oppression of the Wall Israel is building. The concert will not be dedicated to those people who â in earning their living â play a part in making conditions of life worse around the world.
