What a show. Have been listening to his live show that are available on archive.org.
This acoustic set is wonderful. Thanks for the post.
The track names are off by one on Disk 2 and the Last track name of disk 1 is the first track on Disk 2. Music is in correct order but names are off.
Thanks again

Subject: Very, very nice!
Very nice show!! It is well recorded considering some of the challenges faced by the taper. I am impressed with the sense of ambience and space captured, as if the listener is really there with the appreciative and respectful audience.
The material from the then upcoming "Ashgrove" record is a real treat, with slide player Greg Leisz being in especially fine form. An appearance from guest singer Chrisy McWilson is really nice as well.
A couple of minor corrections:
- The correct date of the show is Saturday January 10, 2004
- d2t02 is 'Out To California'

g33ky tapir ramblings, and techie stuff:
*kindaDIN stereo (made up on the fly) is 17cm spacing, with the left mic at 45º left axis, right mic at -5º left-axis to avoid the dominant right pa stack in that part of the room. Sort of like this, \=o=| but with the right mic just slightly "aimed" to the left, by just a shade (-5º left-axis of right mic). The left mic was focused to a point 3/4 across the stage at stage amps. The right mic was focused on Dave Alvin and Brantley Kearns. It sounds better than it appears on paper!
From 1st row, slightly right of center.
Mic suspended over audience from a horizontal mic stand that was parallel to and over the first row audience, horizontally reaching back towards the stage center. This was because the promoter did not want a mic stand on the floor, despite the bands approval of the recordings (both bands), except at the rear of the room. So I suspended the mics from an indoor craftsmen style arbor, over first row, near stage center. The arbor construction hid the mics from rearward view, and exposed them to the stage, and the promoter was happy (so was the tapir).
