Anamorphic images were all the rage in Holbien's day, a clever way to disguise your porn or, as in this case, slip in an important "message". As I understand it this image was created to hang over a stairwell (tres site specific) where the spectator had no choice but see it from an extreme raking angle as they approached it. Gosh.
