Tom BassfordDesign Of Signage VJ Clips (2006)

A selection of VJing clips made from public domain signs. The original designs were produced by Ravi Poovaiah, Professor, IDC, IIT Bombay.

The symbols for Hospitals, Railway/Bus stations and Public building environments were designed at IIT Bombay. The project involved extensive field work and feedback studies with the users. The designs were evaluated and modified during each stage of the design process. Here are documented the finalised designs.

These symbols are in use in hospitals (KEM for example in Mumbai) and other facilities in many places around the world. The design process and the final designs have been published in journals and other design related magazines.

The original images used in these clips can be freely downloaded from http://www.designofsignage.com/

These clips are designed for live visual performance using a VJing software such as VJamm http://www.vjamm.com, they are produced at 100BPM and have details of the number of beats each clip contains in the form XXbt (where XX = the number of beats)

Please feel free to use these at live performances which you are being paid for.
