The show was first performed on Nov. 14, 1776 (London Stage 5.1, p. 36) This booklet with the music was first announced on Dec. 11, 1776 (Morning Post and Daily Advertiser, Issue 1289): "Some time next week will be published, The Songs, &c. in the Seraglio, as now performing at the Theatre Royal, Covent Garden"
