In âDown with the Sunâ, our hero is incarcerated and hallucinates that he is playing a show and sees his lost heroine. She has come back and all is well, but the blinding light of the morning sun awakens him to the fact that she is lost to him and he is lost to himself.
Down with the Sun
As I walk alone down crazy streets The people laugh as I trip over my feet They donât know the story behind my defeat They never held you close or kissed you so sweet
Now the sun gets me down every morning Yes the sun brings me down each day The sun hurts my eyes to see How Iâve sunken so low today
While Iâm playing here I face the crowd Theyâre drinking much too much and Thinking too loud Then a face I see Could it be you Your coming back to me My dreamâs coming true
Now the sun is bright every morning Yes the sun gets me high each day Itâs so bright and gold and blinding in the morning Now your back with me To stay
But Iâm wrong itâs just these old drunken dtâs It wasnât you, but I guess Iâm still me The rain is falling down Dripping in my cell It is my happy home And I know it oh so well
The sun gets me down every morning The sun gets me down each day The sun hurts my eyes to see How Iâve sunken so low Today
