SkytreeSkytree - Knotwork [EAR009] ()

Knotwork is a mix of acoustic and electronic elements; boundless as mountain scapes, lively as a fresh water canal. it seems to segue from autumn to spring while weaving a steady euphoria.

Subject: tangled and well-structured
a nice musical project, previously unknown to me. the tracks find themselves somewhere between deep ambient and drums intricacy, where well-structured and surrounding rhythms recall the works of Taisuke Matsuo (available on ObservatoryOnline) and, in its obscure and kinda cinematographic atmosphere, Nicole Elmer aka Neutral (on Hymen records). they also dont dislike using guitar and flutes, and they do it pretty well. not all the songs are memorable, but the ones which are... well they are. i'd suggest "Oupine" for a first taste

Skytree effortlessly weaves found and recorded samples into brilliantly programmed drum beats creating a true treat for the ears.

Knotwork is an example of the highest level of this form of music.
