Subject: Great music, but flawed recording.
Subject: Great music, but flawed recording.
I'm not typically critical of independent musicians, but I had to say something here. The idea behind this music is great. There are some incredible sounds here, somewhat reminiscent of avant garde stuff from the 60's. But my god, didn't you realize every time you clicked that pedal you were picking it up with your microphone? It made what promised to be a very enjoyable experience into a horrendously un-listenable exercise in grit-your-teeth frustration. Try again, and please use some way to isolate the clicking from future recordings.
I also felt the sax was way too clean. Way too in-your-face clean. Like it could use some dirtying up through filters, plugins or a tube amp. That's just me though. Probably from listening to so much Coltrane.
