Reviewer:chitownguitar - - November 19, 2009 Subject: Biggest FJB show that they ever played Awesome A+ quality show - FJB headlined the Taste of Chicago free 4th of July Concert in Grant Park, which is annually broadcasted live on WXRT 93.1 FM here in Chicago. It was a huge honor for them to be asked to headline it - there were probably 50,000 in the audience and countless more listening on the radio - and the headliners of this event are often mainstream acts (Counting Crows and Guster among others have headlined it since then). I was at this show with a bunch of friends, and there was a threat of rain all day, but right before FJB came on, the sun came out and it ended up being a great afternoon (you hear the band allude several times to the sun and the potential rain). The show was one of the band's first after recording "North Avenue Wakeup Call" which came out a month later. At the time, they were really pushing "Hold on to Midnight" as a single. Marty's acoustic sounds amazing throughout the show, but especially on "Hold on to Midnight."
For some reason, I really liked the introductions that they played to several songs from this show - "Colors of the Light," "In a Daydream," and "Take the Time" in particular. The quality is really fantastic, I hope you all enjoy it.
