Northern Borders sounds like it was sent to us from a timeslip in the nineties, gliding ambient arrangements and warm enveloping electronics with an urbane character fill the air. Crunchy percussion, delicate pads and strings are in equal measure throughout weaving heartfelt moments and memories into an accomplished album. The title track borrows the sample made infamous by Orbital - "Even a stopped clock gives the right time twice a day", and nods at a golden era of electronic music. The album is listening material for the travellers of inner and outer spaces brought to you by a musician and producer that understood the benefits of what is means to chill out long before the term became a tired expression.
