Speed run of Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones in 25 segments completed on July 2 2005. Available in 3 versions: low quality, normal quality, and 60fps high quality.
Author's comments:
This game is shorter than Rekka no Ken (also known as Fire Emblem in U.S.), but a lot harder to speed through. For one, not all the enemies go down like flies, like most of the enemies in 7.
Time for a chapter breakdown:
Prologue: 45 seconds is only a few seconds from perfect if you ask me, so I think I did very well here.
Chapter 1: I didn't even move Gilliam or Franz. Why? They were completely useless to me. Seth took Eirika to the gate and destroyed the boss in the process. Easy win.
Chapter 2: Ross and Garcia = waste of time. They did allow me to kill the "NPC Phase" though, which is slow and stupid. I didn't bother with the village with the Red Gem, since I didn't need money.
Chapter 3: I used Seth to rush Eirika near the throne and dropped her nearby (on purpose). That way, she could seize the throne on the next turn...because Bazba was already dead from foolishly attacking Seth.
Chapter 4: Slow chapter, and two fairly useless (in this run) units join. Nothing out of the ordinary here as far as I remember.
Chapter 5: Joshua decided to foolishly attack me, but Seth just shrugged it off and proceeded to kill the boss. Quick and painless chapter.
Chapter 5x: Orson killed stuff and carried Ephraim around while Kyle and Forde mopped up survivors. Not much else to say, besides the fact that I completed this chapter in 9 turns (I wanted 10 turns or less, and there it is).
Chapter 6: Seth rushed to the boss and proceeded to put him 6 feet under. That's it.
Chapter 7: This chapter was fairly complicated. Vanessa dropped Seth across the river in range of Murray, and then picked up Eirika. I had her fly above the lake to avoid arrows and then drop the load near the gate.
Colm's job was simply to steal the Energy Ring, nothing else. I lost time by choosing not to take the risk near the end (with Garcia), but it's better safe than sorry (especially with the way the RNG works).
Chapter 8: This chapter consisted of Seth carrying Eirika to the throne and Colm grabbing the Angelic Robe, that's all.. Killing here and there as usual.
Chapter 9: Pain in the butt time waster, period. I killed Amelia, ran to the throne, and seized it.
Chapter 10: Thanks to Ranger Knight's post (Tana can recruit Cormag), I was able to get Cormag along with Duessel before finishing the chapter.
Beran got lucky and survived against Seth longer than I feel he should have, but he couldn't win, and the chapter would end soon. A point in this chapter worth noting is Tana's super lucky dodge near the end. Huzzah!
Chapter 11: Not the best, but I got the job done fairly quick. I realized from an earlier run through this chapter that you get Dozla and L'Arachel automatically. I wouldn't have really been missing much if they didn't join though...
Chapter 12: The Cyclops got lucky and survived Seth's wrath, but Marisa didn't. Gwa ha.
Chapter 13: This one wasn't very pretty, but it's just good that I got it done.
Chapter 14: MageInTraining gave me a good suggestion for Vigarde, and that was to use an "...Armorslayer or something..." Needless to say, that worked a lot better than my previous idea to use a Killer Lance.
Other than that, I remember this chapter being fairly ugly, enjoy it. :)
Chapter 15: My main goal was to finish this chapter before turn 8. On that turn, a ton of reinforcements show up, and that's the exact opposite of what I wanted (considering it's a "Defeat Enemy" map). Orson's Silver Sword payed off against Caellach, and I completed this in 7 turns.
Chapter 16: I rushed to the throne and moved Orson's fat butt of it, then seized it. Nothing fancy here, besides getting a useless Physic staff.
Chapter 17: Myrrh + Swiftsoles + Tethys = dead Lyon in 2 turns. I also recruited Syrene.
Chapter 18: Nothing fancy here, just a lot of killing.
Chapter 19: "Protect Mansel/Defeat Riev"...I took the obvious choice. Riev went down like a ton of bricks.
Chapter 20: Myrrh killed Morva...how heartless. Do I care? Heck no. Lots of flying units took part in this chapter (all 5 to be exact).
Final Chapter: Another pain. The biggest problem is not Lyon, it's the amount of worthless enemies who block Seth and Myrrh's shot at him.
Cormag was extremely lucky because Lyon decided to attack/commit suicide early.
Fomortiis was a little annoying, but Myrrh seriously overkilled him for a final blow. Don't you love how your characters wait until the last hit to land a critical? -_-
Anyway, I'm very proud of this run, and hopefully you'll enjoy watching it. If you want to talk to me, my AOL Instant Messenger name is LameImitation.
