UPDATE 2010-07-13: 19 additional episodes
"Five Minute Mysteries"
was broadcast on the MBS (Mutual Broadcasting System) from 1947-08-10 thru to 1950-03-27. Listening carefully to every word spoken about these terrific (but brief) mysteries was essential, as each mystery was very well written.
It is often difficult to come up with the right answer and it is comparable to the Ellery Queen One Minute Mysteries!

These are for falling asleep fast. You giggle, yawn, get tired of trying to figure out what you just heard, and before you know it, it's morning. Like with this one: A man claims to have been playing the organ at the time the shot was fired, giving him the only alibi in the place. But the POWER was off throughout the building, and OOPS, it was an ELECTRIC organ. There was an electric organ playing when the shot was fired, all right, but it had to have been coming from a RECORD. Get it? (Flintstone's stone age stork lifts beak from stone record spinning on stone phonograph, and asks...)

Earle's done flipped off his rocker sideways lol!
Love these shows, it's got a Ellery Queen touch to it to where you have to listen to every detail closely to figure out who did what to who.
And no people, you ain't gotta be a private eye. me promises :D

These are alot of fun- not the most mind-bending mysteries you have ever heard, besides not being very believable- listen to them ten in a row and the theme will start getting on your nerves- but its cheesy goodness nonetheless.

... these five minute dramas are quite entertaining. The Five Minute Mysteries have another link on the Archive, but this particular collection is more comprehensive. These are good for short drives and to fill out time on OTR CDs to max the time out at 80 minutes.

It asks you to solve the five minute diolog, that is presented..The clues are very vague..You have to listen intently.. It helps if you are a Private Eye..
