Batur Sönmez is an Turkish musician, sound and audio-visual artist, born in Istanbul, in 1975. He is also known worldwide as the experimental, electronic, industrial, noise music pioneer "Analog Suicide".
He started his first experimental, industrial, electronic, noise, avant-garde music projects in 1998. He now has several different musical and audio-visual projects including: Analog Suicide, Noiseistanbul, Antarktika, Mindscan, Dadaloop, UHF, Audio and Radiophonik.
Creative working areas include sound art, video art, multimedia, installations and short films. He was chosen for the 'International Contemporary Artists Exhibition' in Istanbul, 2004 (with Mindscan).
He has participated & performed in many live events and festivals in Turkey, Japan, Russia, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, France, Holland, Belgium, Slovenia, Czech Rep., Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Greece and Lebanon.
He has been organizing experimental, electronic, noise, avant-garde music events in Istanbul since 1999. 'Transmit// Audio Visual Arts' is his independent label, studio, organisation which was founded in 2006.
He is the curator, organizer of 'Signals From Outside' event series and the 'Spektro International Experimental Music & Film Festival' in Istanbul, Turkey.
Flash Mental Experiment is his a new experimental, electronic, noise, improvised music project combining both sound & light.
This album is the first live performance of Flash Mental Experiment recorded in Istanbul on 24th May 2010.
