This is the full camera show of Janet Kuypers performing poetry at the Palos Park Public Library October 7th 2009 (10/07/09). Because she used to live 5 blocks away from this library, she had to come back for this show... And although there were 3 older poems read at this show, most of the poems were new. The poems Kuypers read include "aim carefully", "carrying me through", "eternal struggle", "let me be", "looking for a worthy adversary", "more than we should have", "observations: 9 and 6", "scratch the surface", "the burning", "under the sea", "why i didnât see god", "witnessing hitlerâs reign", and "youâve already paid for this". This is also her last scheduled poetry reading show before she takes over as the host of the Chicago weekly poetry open mic at "the Cafe" (5115 North Lincoln Ave., Chicago, Tuesday nights, starting at 8:30 PM). Kuypers was even impressed that people from Chicago came to the Palos Park Public Library for her show (like Bob Rashkow), and it was nice for her that her sister and sister-in-law even made the trip to the Palos Park Public Library for her poetry reading show. Janet Kuypers even released a chapbook of material from the show called "the Cutting Room Floor" (since the show contained material covering a wide variety of subjects, from alcoholism. to finding the love of your life, to killing the enemy during war. From sexism ot ending relationships. From religion, to even how weâre linked in the universe (since Kuypers likes to bring up astronomy in her poetry shows at times).
