Dan - electric guitar (Ibanez), through Harmony H530 amp Matthew - saz, through Ampeg BA-H5SP amp (tracks 1-6) Dan was jamming in E, but his guitar was tuned up a semitone, so the saz got tuned down from G to F. The looser strings, together with the weird combinations of effects Dan was choosing on the Ampeg led to this rather unusual saz sound. Several of the tracks branched off from a riff which Dan semi-consciously borrowed from somewhere - he wasn't quite sure where, but thinks it might have been something from Sonic Youth's A Thousand Leaves album or possibly a track by Mastodon. more jams with Dan A Tiny Window |
