G-Day was a 24-hour live Internet collaboration event hosted by Tapegerm. Beginning at 6 PM, October 1, 2005, tapegerm loop artists began creating and uploading loops for mix artists to download and create new music using only these loops. The idea was to create an album in one day. And, 24 hours later, 17 tracks had been created and a great time chatting, looping, and mixing was had by all. http://www.tapegerm.com/

This features VERY little of what you would find on the tapegerm website. There are lots of stuff by artists like Mental Anguish (Chris Phinney), DJ Get Yo Fat On, Buzzsaw & The Shavings, CRT, Heuristics Inc... the list goes on. These artists used each other's loops to make their music. The music sounds like techno, ambient, experimental, and Pop-Rock.
Only one track has singing: Kamakura's "Happiness." The rest are instrumental. Almost every track I like here. On a few tracks I heard someone say "Some trackajeeb(?) day... a day to remember" or something like that.
If you like G-Day then you may wanna check out other guys who were not featured on G-Day but on the Tapeger Collective (Hal McGee, hebephrenic, David Fuglewicz, etc). You may find the Parental Advisory icon on some songs. And there are those that don't have the icon but DO have offensive words (for example, Buzzsaw & The Shavings: "A Hard Night and Enlightenment Wakes in D'Holbach." You could hear someone say "____ you!" And it doesn't have the Parental Advisory icon!). But there don't seem to be many songs with such words (at least what I've found, so far). There's also Tapegerm Radio on Aural Innovations (see below).
Some artists have a few (or just one) song on the website. You could check them out, too. Here are my favorites: Suckling Infants: "Sleepwalking 2"; Chaos Is Your Destiny: "Dark Places"; shazbot: "acid banana"; Zentiel: "Probe's Journey"; Mike Merz: "American Music," "The Well-Tempered Clavicle," & "V.G.V.B.I.G.R.S.S." (I wonder what that stands for).
As you may know, you could find more free downloadable music in the similar vein here on the Internet Archive. Here are a few other websites worth checking out that includes the artists on G-Day (as well as tapegerm.com):
Aural Innovations radio shows (which includes Tapegerm Radio)

harshrealitymusic.com (including CDs you could buy for $8 each or $10 per double CD).
