Hi Steve, thanks for getting in touch!
Unfortunately, we don't have a system set up to allow a "preview" of the files before they go public. What we can do is flag any FM sourced show and send you an email *before* it goes public. It will get frozen in the Contribution Engine and will not go public until you take a look at the performance date and source info and let us know it's ok to go. Will that work? Let me know what you think.
On November 25, 2002, Glen Phillips' management gave permission to Chris Berryman for shows to be hosted at the Archive, with caveats as noted:
Chris summarized a forwarded series of messages from Steve Smith, manager for Glen Phillips, as follows at Steve's request:
In the messages he gives his permission to archive Glen's live work with the stipulations:
Glen's live audience recordings may be archived.
No Soundboard recordings, no demos, and no downloaded mp3s from Glen's website.
At any time if a previously legitmate live audience recording is considered
for official release then it shall no longer be authorized for distribution
on the archive.
Thanks, Chris Berryman
Admin note: Shows considered off-limits at this time reportedly include three October 2002 Largo, Los Angeles shows, 10/3/02, 10/10/02, 10/24/02.
Note for cases wehre Nickel Creek guests at Glen's shows, see
this post which points to

Policy Notes
Toad always had a pro-taping policy, and I continue to allow taping of my shows. Why? Well, that way you get a self-regulating trading network setup by and for fans, and there's no room for the bootleg sharks to sell poor quality tapes at exorbitant prices. It kills the predatory element of the bootleg market by encouraging fans to keep it free, fun, and in their own control.
There are two kinds of taping I am not into, though:
1) Video - It simply makes me nervous. I always get a little embarrassed when I see a video camera in the audience, and I think it negatively affects the show. Beyond that, they never look very good.
2) Board tapes - To enable me to be able to sell at least slightly better quality tapes of my shows than are available for free, I reserve the exclusive right to board tapes. Aside from that, knock yourself out.
Also: once I get a live compilation finished, purchasing songs through this site ensures that the songwriters (whether myself or someone else) and publishers will be paid their proper royalties. This ensures that we actually make a living with this music thing, and is highly recommended.
