'Your' Hopes, 'Your' Dreams, these are the things that popular American religion is based off of and loosely called Christianity. This is not what Jesus taught. Jesus taught that what God truly was would change you and then you would no longer have the hopes and dreams that you once had, in fact 'it' would no longer be about you anymore.
