Subject: awesome
finally had a chance to listen to this, and it's as awesome as advertises. TTT Gas is insane.

thanks to mike salvo for capturing a great show. kev said afterwards, "it was one of those crowds where we could have done anything". opening tune was the alternate "do 4 U". first time I've seen it that way. very, very cool. song of the night was "TTT gas". no joking here when I say it was as hot as anything I've ever seen them play. ever. "signs following" and "all the labor" were also very hot. crowd was really into each one. "ants" and "honeysuckle" were their usual stomp. crowd loved them. the jam at the end of honeysuckle was insanely good. if TTT gas hadn't been so goddamn hot, then kev's solo encore of "just one more" would've taken song of the night honors. he bascially came out on stage by himself and played a straight country song for a usually chatty nyc crowd that just stood there in silence and hung on every word. it was that good. when the rest of the band came up afterwards, max was nowhere to be found. just when I started worrying that he got lost somewhere downstairs and that it was going to derail the show, claude walked over to kev and said something into his ear. kev nodded and then claude picked up the electric guitar and put it on. could it be the song max doesn't play on? yes. "chinese variety" hour full blast. 1st time I've ever seen it and it grooves. I actually went to the back of the room after "jorge" just to take a breather. it was one of those shows where you can feel the beads of sweat rolling down your legs. just noticed they didn't play their 1st cover until song #20. wow.
